In very simple terms, ‘Dyslexia’ refers to on-going difficulties with reading; ‘Dysgraphia’ refers to ongoing difficulties with spelling and writing; and ‘Dyscalculia’ refers to ongoing difficulties with mathematics.
At Melissa Damin Child & Adolescent Psychology, we provide evidence-based Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia diagnostic assessments for children, that involves referring to the DSM-5 criteria for Specific Learning Disorder (SLD) and completing a range of standardised and trusted assessments.
We administer standardised intelligence tests (WISC-V/WPPSI-IV), numeracy and literacy assessments (WIAT-III and other academic assessment tools), auditory processing, phonological awareness, and other standardised assessment tools. We pride ourselves of providing a thorough assessment service in order to profile your child’s specific strengths and weaknesses, so that we can understand the best way in which they will learn.
A full written report is provided containing a detailed list of learning and behavioural recommendations specific to your child, in addition to a feedback session to go over the report in person with parents.
Feedback to teaching staff is also available at an additional cost.
